The Saint Marco Society was founded in 1933 by a small group of fifty-five men, most of whom immigrated from Ascoli Piceno, Italy and subsequently settled in Temple, Pennsylvania. There, they found work in the Temple Iron Foundry and the Reading Railroad. Built by their labor in the midst of the Great Depression of the 1930s, the Saint Marco Society became their locus - the place where they, their families and friends could gather to celebrate the traditions, customs and ceremonies of their ancient Italian culture and those important holidays of their adopted country - the United States of America.

Through the years, through good times and bad, their Society served them well. Today, Saint Marco Society is considered the finest Italian-American social institution in our area.It is a place where everyone who we consider as members of our extended family can enjoy each other’s friendship and partake of the most authentic Italian cuisine this side of Italy.
